This Cookie Policy explains how Lochside LLC, doing business as The Real Estate Bookkeeper ("The Real Estate Bookkeeper," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit realestatebookkeeper.com.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Disclaimer.

The website currently uses only cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for website operation, authentication, form processing, security, embedded services, or limited operational measurement. We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files or pieces of information stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.

Cookies may allow a website or service provider to recognize your browser or device, maintain a session, remember certain information, support authentication, process forms, improve security, or measure basic website activity.

Cookies may be:

  • Session cookies, which generally expire when you close your browser; or
  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period or until deleted.

Cookies may also be:

  • First-party cookies, which are placed by our website; or
  • Third-party cookies, which are placed by another service used through the website.

2. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, the website or its service providers may use similar technologies, including:

  • Local storage;
  • Session storage;
  • Tracking tags;
  • Scripts;
  • Browser identifiers;
  • Embedded content;
  • Security tokens; and
  • Server logs.

For convenience, this policy refers to cookies and similar technologies collectively as "cookies."

3. How We Currently Use Cookies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Operate the website;
  • Maintain website security;
  • Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse;
  • Process forms;
  • Support Google authentication or another sign-in method;
  • Maintain a session during a website interaction;
  • Deliver requested website features;
  • Support embedded third-party content;
  • Diagnose technical errors;
  • Measure basic website performance; and
  • Remember limited technical or privacy preferences.

We do not currently use cookies to build advertising audiences, retarget website visitors, or show personalized advertisements on other websites.

4. Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies support functions required for the website to operate properly.

These may be used for:

  • Security;
  • Authentication;
  • Session management;
  • Form processing;
  • Fraud prevention;
  • Spam prevention;
  • Load balancing; and
  • Maintaining basic website functionality.

Disabling these cookies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.

5. Authentication Cookies

The website allows visitors on the chart-of-accounts page to use a Google account to access a resource or complete part of the website experience.

Authentication services may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Confirm an active session;
  • Authenticate the user;
  • Support account security;
  • Prevent fraud; and
  • Complete the sign-in process.

These cookies may be controlled by the authentication provider.

Information received through authentication is addressed further in our Privacy Policy.

6. Forms and Resource Delivery

Cookies or similar technologies may be used when a visitor:

  • Submits a website form;
  • Requests the real estate chart of accounts;
  • Accesses a success page;
  • Downloads a resource;
  • Books a call; or
  • Completes another website interaction.

These technologies may help:

  • Process the request;
  • Maintain form state;
  • Prevent duplicate or abusive submissions;
  • Confirm successful completion;
  • Protect the website from spam; and
  • Support resource delivery.

7. Analytics and Basic Measurement

Based on our current review of the deployed website and codebase, we have not identified Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, or similar advertising or analytics tools currently installed on the website.

We may still receive limited operational information through hosting, security, authentication, form-processing, and embedded-service providers when those providers support the website.

If analytics tools are added in the future, we will update this policy and any related notices before describing them as active.

8. Embedded Content and Scheduling

The website currently includes a Cal.com inline scheduling embed on the chart-of-accounts page. Third-party embedded content or scheduling tools may use cookies or similar technologies when:

  • The page loads;
  • The embedded feature is displayed;
  • A visitor interacts with the feature; or
  • The visitor is logged into an account maintained by the third party.

The third party controls its own cookies and data practices.

We have not identified an active YouTube embed on the deployed website at the time of this policy update.

9. Advertising and Retargeting

We do not currently use cookies or tracking pixels for targeted advertising, remarketing, or retargeting.

We do not currently use website activity to:

  • Build advertising audiences;
  • Show personalized advertisements on other websites;
  • Track visitors across unrelated websites; or
  • Measure advertising campaigns through third-party advertising pixels.

We may introduce advertising or retargeting technologies in the future.

Before doing so, we will update this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy and implement any notice, consent, or opt-out controls required by applicable law.

10. Email Communications

We may use an email provider to deliver requested resources and other communications.

We do not currently use email tracking pixels for advertising or retargeting purposes.

Some email providers may generate basic operational information, such as:

  • Delivery status;
  • Bounce notifications;
  • Spam complaints; and
  • Unsubscribe activity.

If we later begin measuring email opens, link clicks, or other engagement through tracking technologies, we will update this policy as appropriate.

11. Third-Party Services

Third-party services used by the website may set or access their own cookies.

These services may include providers of:

  • Authentication;
  • Forms;
  • Hosting;
  • Security;
  • Embedded scheduling;
  • Email delivery; and
  • Other operational website services.

We do not control all cookies placed by third parties.

Their use of cookies is governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and cookie practices.

12. Your Cookie Choices

You can usually manage cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

  • View stored cookies;
  • Delete cookies;
  • Block all cookies;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Restrict cookies for specific websites;
  • Clear cookies when the browser closes; or
  • Receive a warning before cookies are stored.

Blocking or deleting cookies may affect website functionality.

For example, it may interfere with authentication, forms, embedded content, saved preferences, or the delivery of a requested resource.

Browser settings generally apply only to the browser and device where they are configured.

13. Do Not Track and Privacy Signals

Some browsers or extensions may transmit privacy signals, such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

There is not currently one universally accepted standard governing how every website must respond to all such signals.

Where applicable law requires us to recognize a supported privacy preference signal, we will respond as required.

14. Future Changes to Tracking Practices

Our use of cookies and similar technologies may change as the website evolves.

We may later add tools for:

  • Website analytics;
  • Conversion measurement;
  • Advertising;
  • Retargeting;
  • Audience building;
  • Session analysis; or
  • Other marketing or performance purposes.

We will update this policy before or when material new tracking technologies are introduced.

Where required, we will also implement appropriate notice, consent, or opt-out controls.

15. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in:

  • The website;
  • Service providers;
  • Authentication methods;
  • Forms;
  • Embedded content;
  • Analytics;
  • Advertising practices;
  • Legal obligations; or
  • Other business practices.

When we update this policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page.

Changes apply prospectively from the updated effective date unless otherwise required by law.
